Healthy Treats No Kid (or You) Can Refuse

October 4, 2021

All treats with no tricks.

Ah, Halloween. That magical time of year when health takes a backseat, sugar pours out of your ears, and candy appears in your house faster than you can say “fine, but just one this time.” But here’s a spooky secret: sometimes, healthy food can taste just as good as candy. So, if you’re feeling like you want a healthier alternative to candy this year, here are some of our favorite ideas:

Fro-Yo Boo-Berries

These bite-sized morsels will satisfy any sweet tooth, and as a bonus, they’re super easy to make!

Ingredients: All you’ll need is a half-cup of blueberries and a half-cup of low-fat Greek yogurt.

  1. Cover a baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Stab a blueberry with a toothpick and dip into the yogurt, covering it fully
  3. Place the yogurt-covered blueberry on the baking sheet
  4. Repeat until all blueberries are covered and freeze overnight

Trail Mix

Sure, you can buy this easily in the store, but those are usually packed with sugar. Make your own and dig into this healthy snack!

Ingredients & directions: simply mix cashews, pretzels, cranberries, and dark chocolate chips. Boom, easy.

Chia Pudding

Simple and delicious.

Ingredients & directions: combine chia seeds with your milk of choice and let it set in the fridge for at least a few hours. Once it’s a pudding consistency, top with your favorite fruit, granola, and honey. *chef’s kiss*

This Halloween, there’s no need to sacrifice delicious taste for health. By making one or all the above recipes, you can ghost your sugar cravings for good.
